The Swiss footballer Ardon Jashari broke the transfer record in the Belgian Jupiler League on Wednesday. AC Milan is taking over the midfielder from Club Brugge for at least 36 million euros. The previous record was also in the name of the Italian club.
There was a lot of talk surrounding Jashari’s transfer. The 23-year-old midfielder refused to play for Club Brugge to force his transfer to Milan. He has now succeeded in doing so.
Jashari has signed a five-year contract with AC Milan. Reportedly, the transfer fee of 36 million euros can be increased by 3 million euros via bonuses.
With the arrival of Jashari, AC Milan breaks the Belgian transfer record, which the Italian club itself had established in 2022. At the time, Charles De Ketelaere came over from Club Brugge for a minimum of 32 million euros.
Jashari had only been with Club Brugge for a year. The four-time Swiss international came over from FC Luzern in the summer of 2024 for 6 million euros.
Jashari played a total of 52 games for Club Brugge. In those, the midfielder scored four goals. He won the national cup with Club Brugge and was voted Player and Talent of the Season in Belgium after the season.
