The A4 towards Amsterdam was reopened on Tuesday around 7:45 PM. The road was closed after a major accident involving two coaches.

One of the buses was en route from Zagreb to Amsterdam, the other from Paris. According to FlixBus, some passengers from the bus from Zagreb were likely slightly injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Uninjured passengers were taken from the A4 to their destinations, Schiphol and Amsterdam-Sloterdijk station, by replacement buses. Local FlixBus teams are currently working on “the luggage situation” of the passengers.

The bus from Paris was carrying 45 passengers and two drivers, the one from Zagreb 21 passengers and one driver. The bus from Zagreb collided with the back of the bus from Paris.

The accident took place on Tuesday afternoon on the A4 near Burgerveen, where the A44 joins the A4. There are currently roadworks taking place, which means traffic has to drive slower.
