The French police have recovered the bust from Jim Morrison’s grave. The statue was stolen 37 years ago from the grave in the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris.
The bust of The Doors singer was found during a search related to a fraud case, reports news agency AFP.
“During an investigation by the Financial and Anti-Corruption Brigade of the French police, this iconic symbol for the singer’s fans was recovered,” the police wrote on Instagram.
Morrison was buried in Paris in 1971 at the age of 27. The statue by Croatian artist Mladen Mikulin was placed on his grave ten years after his death.
Morrison died in Paris in 1971, where he was living at the time, of a heart attack while in the bath. There are also people who claim that a drug overdose in combination with some physical ailments became fatal to him.
