Assistant trainers Oranjevrouwen relocate after EC to England van Wiegman

Assistant coaches Arvid Smit and Janneke Bijl Will Leave the Staff of the Orange Lionesses After This Summer’s European Championship. The Assistants to National Coach Andries Jonker Will Transfer to Sarina Wiegman’s England in September.

The 44-Year-old Smit Has Been an Assistant Coach with Oranje Since 2019. He worked with Wiegman Until 2021, When She Left for England. The 39-Year-old Bijl Joined the Technical Staff in 2022.

Both Staff Members Look back positively on their time with Orange. “I CHERISH ALL THE BEAUTIFUL MEMAIES AND AM PROUD To have experienced a European Championship, World Cup and Olympic Games with the Team,” Says Smit.

Bijl is also grateful for time at the KNVB. “With the European Championship, there is still a great challenge ahead with Orange. Together with the team, I will do everything I can to make it a success.”

Director of Top Football Nigel De Jong Says Heyyed Working with Smit and Bijl Very Much. “They have tasks great steps in their personal development and a new challenge has now come their way.”

National coach Jonker Will also Leave Oranje After the European Championship. The KNVB decided not to extend his contract. Jonker Will Be Replaced by Arjan Veurink, Who is Currently Wiegman’s Assistant in England.
