Tens of thousands of people protest in The Hague against cabinet policy on Israel

Tens of Thousands of Demonstrators Gathered in The Hague on Sunday to Protest Against The Cabinet’s Policy on Israel. The City is crowded with demonstrators in Red Clothing.

Around 12:45 pm, The Malieveld was full of demonstrators. Accordance to oxfam novib, there are about one hundred thousand people present. They Left Shortly After for a March to the Peace Palace. Around 2:45 pm, the first demonstrators arrived there. A Few Hundred sympathizers were Waiting for them.

Duration Their Walk, The Protesters Shouted Slogans Such As “Cabinet Shame, Blood on your Hands”. Attendees Have Palestinian Flags with Them, Among Other Things. There are also people walking around with signs with slogans such “violence is never a solution”, “do something” and “shelter is no longer possible”.

The Red Clothing Symbolizes a Red Line That The Demonstrators Want To Draw. They are done with the cabinet’s policy regarding Israel. They believe that the cabinet is Doing Too Little About the Violence That Israel Inflicts on the Palestinians.

The Protest started with a stage program, in which the Jewish Writer Maurits de Bruin Spoke, Among Others. He said he was standing there, his family members had Become Victims of Genocide. “The Holocaust is now being used to justify the genocide in Gaza.”

Aid organizations called for action

Several (Aid) Organizations, Including Amnesty International, Save the Children and Oxfam Novib, had Called for the Action. They are asking the Dutch Government to Draw a Clear Line. “Stop Political, Economic and Military Support to Israel as Long As It Blocks Access to Relief Supplies and Is Guilty of War Crimes and Structural Human Rights Violations in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.”

The Government Has Consistently Emphasized That Israel Has The Right to Self-Defense. The country should be able to defend itself against terrorism. However, The Cabinet is Expressing Itelf More and More firmly, But Sanctions have not Yet Been Imposed.

Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp Recently Spoke of Disproportionate Violence. The Cabinet also threated to Block Collaborations with Israel IF No Investigation is Conducted Into Human Rights Violations. But the demonstrators do not think that is enough.
