Claude is ready for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Dutch singer has the feeling that he was better than ever during the jury show on Friday evening and suspects that he can be emotional on stage on Saturday.
“I thought it was going very well last night,” the singer tells NU.nl prior to the final. “I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it! I also thought it was one of my best performances.”
Claude sang pure and clear on Friday evening, but he did get two small pieces from his text together. Where he should have singed in the second chorus ” Me Voici, Me Voilà “, he sang ” Écoute-Moi, Oh, Maman “, which later enters the song.
“I had that piece in my head all the time. I had to think a lot about my mother at the time. So I sang that twice. They probably don’t mind. I prefer that I have a nice lyrics than that I might sing a false note. And it was really very good to my feeling,” says a happy Claud.
At the end of his performance, the singer always has an emotional moment. Claude thinks that in the final it becomes clear what it is doing to him. “I think you should prepare yourself for tonight, because I feel enormously emotional. It is of course also the last day. And I had such a good time with everyone that I really want to enjoy today.”
