The American President Donald Trump Says he has “A Problem” With Apple CEO Tim Cook. The Tech Company Wants To Have Its iPhones Made in India From Now On, But The President is not happy about that.
Apple Currently has its iPhones produced in China, but Trump is engaged in a trade war with the Chinese. The Therefore Introduced Import Duties of 145 percent Last Month on Products that go from China to the US. This would make iPhones made in China Considerly More Expendive for Americans. The Duties Have Recently Been Reduced to 30 percent, but this is only temporary.
Apple Wants To Have The iPhones Assembled Elsewhere In The Future because of the High Duties and Has Set Set Sights on India. iPhones are expected to be assembled there in the coming months.
But that Goes Against Trump’s Grain. The Wants Products Sold In The US To Be Made As Much As Possible in His Own Country, Including iPhones. This should create more Jobs for Americans. The Downside is that Wages in the US Are Much Higher Than In China and India, which Could Make iPhones Much More Expective.
“I had a little problem with Tim Cook Yesterday,” Trump Said about his conversation with the Apple CEO. “He’s building all over India. I don’t want you building in India.” As a result of their conversation, Apple will “Increase Production in the United States,” The President Said. The Tech Company Has Not Responded to Questions about the Matter.
Earlier This Week, The American Business Newspaper Wall Street Journal Reported That Apple is Considering Raising the Prices of the New Series of iPhones. The Company would conscious not because to mention this is due to the duties that Trump has imposed on products coming from Abroad.
