Eindhoven will host DE OPENING in 2026, the start of the cultural season

Eindhoven will be the location of THE OPENING next year, the event that kicks off the new cultural season in the Netherlands. For the first time, surrounding municipalities will also participate in the festivities, which will take place in the last weekend of August.

According to Culture Alderman Saskia Lammers, the city is proud of the choice. “Together we prove that culture also thrives outside the Randstad and brings people together,” she says. During the festival, both well-known artists and upcoming talents will be on stage.

The event is the successor to the Uitmarkt, which was held in Amsterdam for more than forty years. This year, THE OPENING took place in Apeldoorn and the event attracted more than 75,000 visitors.

THE OPENING will take place in the Brabant city from Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30.
