Former professional football player Eljero Elia became involved in a collision on the A4 motorway near Leiden on Saturday evening. His Lamborghini collided with another vehicle. It is not known whether the former international themselves was behind the wheel.
The accident took place around 9.45 pm. Two vehicles collided with each other, including a Lamborghini Urus. A total of four cars were involved in the collision, the police told NU.nl.
The spokesperson cannot confirm the identity of those involved, but Elijah can be seen on images of the aftermath of the accident. The Urus can also be found on the Instagram account of the former professional football player. The Lamborghini SUV costs at least 312,000 euros in the Netherlands.
There were no seriously injured people. Two people were checked on the spot by ambulance personnel.
The drivers of the two vehicles that collided with each other were arrested and taken for tests. The police want to know, among other things, whether there may have been alcohol.
