An Islamic boarding school collapsed in the Indonesian province of East Java. At least three students died and dozens of others were injured. Authorities fear that 38 people are still under the rubble.

The building of the Al Khoziny Kostschool in Sidoarjo collapsed on Monday afternoon when more than a hundred students had gathered for prayer. Rescue workers, police and soldiers have taken victims under the rubble until well into the night. There would be 332 care providers of 56 authorities.

According to a school manager, the accident happened after construction workers had deposited concrete for a third floor under construction. The Indonesian disaster relief service suspects that the foundation of the building may not have been calculated on that weight.
