
Laura Villars has Surprisingly Put Herself Forward As A Candidate for the Presidency of the Fia On Thursday. She is the first woman in the history of the motorsport federation to compete for this position.
Villars, A 28-Year-old Driver from Switzerland, is the third candidate to make Herself available. Previously, Current President Mohammed Ben Sulayem and Former Fia Steward Tim Mayer had Already Indicated They Wanted to Make a Bid for the Presidency.
Villars Wants, Among Other Things, More Transparency in the Area of Finances and Decision-making. There has been a lot of criticism or am sulayem in that area.
Villars also Wants to Make the Motorsport Federation More Open and Inclusive. “My Ambition is a board that is more democratic, transparent and accountable and also open to women and new generations,” She says.
Villars Herself is Driving in The Ligier European Series JS P4 This Year. “I believe that motorsport needs diversity and innovation to continuous to inspire Young Generations Worldwide,” Says the Driver.
The Presidential Elections Will Take Place on December 12 Turning the Fia General Assembly in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
