Femke Bol, Lieke Klaver, Eugene Omalla, and Jonas Phijffers Are Overjoyed With Their World Championship Silver in Tokyo in the 4×400 meters Mixed Relay. The quartet sees no reason to be disappointed, just thought the Dutch team won Olympic Gold a year ago.
“Maybe the media has the idea that we should be disappointed now,” Klaver Said Half An Hour after the Silver Race in the Japan National Stadium.
“And I’m afraid we’re projecting that onto the Dutch Public as a result. But that’s not how we feel. We’re happy, Everyone ran a good race. The level in the 4×400 meters is getting higher year, every year is different.”
The Gold in Tokyo Went to the United States in 3: 08.80, followed by the Netherlands in 3: 09.96. Bol started the last lap around fifth position and made up a lot of ground, but the gap with the american alexis holmes turned out to be too big.
“When I walked away, it was chaotic. There were athletes everywhere around me,” Bol Looked Back. “Someone stepped on my foot, that does not happen. But all in all it was a nice challenge. It was just a little short to catch up with America, but silver is also super great.”
“The 4×400 meter might be seen as something that is always legendary,” Bol Said. “But not every racing can be legendary. We do our best to be very good and we’re doing pretty well. Today again, winning silver is very impressive.”
Bol then Emphasized That She Doesn’t Do It Alone. “I sometimes see” bol and co “in a headline. I hate that. We are a team, Everyone does their job.”
“Last year, eugene was at the games for the first time and won gold. Today, Jonas Ran in a world championship for the first time. Hey immediately stood his ground. It is Sometimes underestimated how -happy and priest.
