The wall painting of Banksy that appeared at the Royal Courts of Justice in London at the beginning of this week has already been removed. The work has been removed by the maintenance service of the courthouse.
On a wall of the Queen’s building, Banksy had depicted a judge who tackles a demonstrator with his hammer. The artist posted a photo of the artwork on Instagram on Monday and thereby confirmed his authorship.
The artwork was shielded shortly after discovery with metal plates and now largely removed, according to images from Wednesday. The building is legally protected and may therefore not be provided with such murals.
According to British media, the work referred to demonstrations of the Palestine Action action group, of which various members had to appear in court recently.
