Two men were saved from a tree in the Biesbosch in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. The pair was in the nature reserve to photograph when suddenly the water rose rapidly.

After a search of about an hour, the fire brigade found the men and brought them to safety. They were checked by ambulance personnel, after which they could drive their own car to the GP station. Both men have suffered minor injuries.
