A plane from Toronto, Canada, Made A Hard Landing at Princess Juliana International Airport in Sint Maarten on Sunday. Westjet, the airline operating the plane, reports that no one was injured.
Accordance to Regional Media, The Boeing 737-800 Landed Hard On Its Right Landing Gear, which Collapsed. The plane then slid down the runway, and the right engine is said to have scraped along the runway, releasing smoke.
Westjet Reports That the Plane’s Slides Were Activated. Everyone on board was evacuated and tasks to the terminal.
The aircraft is Said to Have Been Badly Damaged. Prime Minister of Sint Maarten Luc Mercelina Said in a statement that the runway will remain closed for the time being. It is the only runway at the airport.
