Former Footballer Bud Brocken passed away on Friday night to Saturday. The Club Legend of Willem II and Five-time Orange International was 67 Years Old.
“Today we recedived the sad news of the passing of Former Willem II Player Bud Brocken,” Willem II wrote on the club website on Saturday Morning.
Brocken Made His Debut in 1975 at the Age of Seventeen for Willem II, where he Became a Club Icon. Spread over Two Periods, He Played in No Less Than Eleven Seasons 388 Matches for the Tilburg Team.
After his first Period at Willem II, hey to Birmingham City for One Season in 1981, after which he returned to the Eredivisie at FC Groningen. Duration his time at Groningen he also played five times for orange. He Played International Matches Against Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Malta and Belgium.
As a Striker, he was Known for his Running Ability and Kicking Technique, with the so-called ‘Banana Cross’ As His Trademark. “He could curl the ball around the opponent and place it in the Enemy’s goal Area with Extraordinary Precision,” Writes Willem II. “Strikers only had to run into it.”
In 1994, Brocken Put an End to his Active Football Career, after which he started working as a real estate agent in Tilburg.
