Vingegaard recovers leader's jersey in Vuelta, but loses some time on competitors

Jonas Vingegaard Reclaimed The Leader’s Jersey in the Vuelta a España on Wednesday. The Dane finished second in the Team Time Trial with Visma-Lease A Bike. The Victory Went to Uae Team Emirates, The Team of His Rivals João Almeida and Juan Ayuso.

Vingegaard Already Wore the Red Jersey On Monday and Tuesday but relinquished it to David Gaudu After the Fourth Stage. The Frenchman and Groupama-FDJ Finished no better than ninth in the 24-kilometer team Time Trial in and around Figueres, conceding 24 seconds to uae emirates’ time of 25:26.

Visma-Lease A Bike Lost Eight Seconds to the Winning Time of Almeida and Ayuso’s team. Lidl-Trek, Featuring Dutchman Daan Hole and Italian Giulio Ciccone, finished third in the Stage, Nine Seconds Behind Uae Emirates.

Vingegaard Now Holds An Eight-Second Lead over Almeida and Ayuso in the General Classification. Their Teammate Marc Soler is also in the shared second place. Gaudu has dropped to sixth. There are no Dutch riders in the top of the standings.

The Team Time Trial was Marred by A Pro-Palestinian Protest Targeting Israel Prime Minister Tech. Several Riders From The Team had to Brake Sharply Due to the Protesters on the Road. The team finished in the back of the team Time Trial.

A Mountain Stage to Andorra is Scheduled for Thursday. The Vuelta Lasts Until Sunday, September 14.
