Fast food chain Taco Bell makes restart after bankruptcy in the Netherlands

The American fast food chain Taco Bell makes a restart in the Netherlands. The Dutch branch of the American company, which serves Mexican food, was declared bankrupt at the end of July.

The British franchise party Symbro takes over the branches, confirms curator Maartenjansen according to the ANP . Nine out of ten Dutch branches will probably continue under the new owner. The tenth, in Amersfoort, seems too expensive because of the amount of the rent.

130 of the 165 employees come along with the restart. “Those are actually all the employees who still work there, because people have left lately,” Jansen told the ANP .

It is the second time that there is a bankruptcy for Taco Bell in the Netherlands. In 2018, the then franchisee also went bankrupt. Two years earlier, the chain had announced that it wanted to open fifty restaurants in the Netherlands within ten years.
