Sail in Amsterdam HAS Attracted Approximately 2.5 Million Visitors Over The Past Five Days, Said General Director Mitra van Raalten After The Sailing Event. That is more than the previous edition in 2015, when there were Almost 2.3 Million People.
It is not a record: in 2005, Sail Attracted 2.6 Million People.
Van Raalten Spoke of A “Magical” Sail, which processed without incidents. “It was all very convivial and casual. The fraternization on the water with all those ships, and the crew bringing a piece of their homeland to our port, is truly unique.”
Sail is Once Every Five Years, But Due to the Corona Outbreak, the 2020 Edition had to be skipped. The Organization is happy that the event has managed to get so many people on their feet and on the water again after ten years.
The Event Has Been Organized Since 1975. Deans of Large Historical Sailing Ships Are Welcomed in The Amsterdam Harbor. After Arrival, The Ships Are Freely Accessible to the Public for a Few Days. Various activities are also organized on the shore.
