Dredging company Van Oord has brought in a land reclamation project off the coast of Dubai. The Dutch company will construct an artificial island of approximately 13 hectares and 6 kilometers of beach.
The island will be located just off the coast of Jumeirah. “The design is inspired by the natural beauty of an unspoilt island,” writes Van Oord Tuesday. According to the company, it emphasizes “on preserving the existing beach environment with open green zones and coastal landscape”.
Naïa Island Dubai, as the project is called, is financed by investor Shamal Holding from Dubai. Van Oord will win more than 28 million cubic meters of sand for the project. The company will also place around 4.3 million tons of rock.
The island project must become a super luxury destination with a chic resort of Cheval Blanc, exclusive beach villas, a marina and a wellness.
It is not the first time that Van Oord has brought in a big job in Dubai. Earlier, the company was already involved in the construction of Palm Jumeirah, The World and various other artificial islands off the coast of the oil state.

This is not the first time that of Oord Has Landed a Major Project in Dubai. Previously, The Company was Involved in the Construction of Palm Jumeirah, The World and Various Other Artificial Islands Off The Coast of the Oil State.
