James Norton broke his collarbone during the recordings of the new historic drama series King & Conqueror . That happened when the actor fell on the set of a horse.
“I fell from a horse and ended up on my shoulder,” Norton said during the premiere of the series in London. The forty -year -old actor also shared that the fracture was painful, but that he was lucky that he recovered quickly afterwards. “Actually it was a remarkably fast recovery and it had no influence on the rest of the film process.”
Norton said that the pain led him to be able to scream remarkably convincingly at later fight scenes. “In some combat scenes in the second half of the recordings I scream very hard and the screams are pretty authentic,” he joked.
King & Conqueror is set around the Battle of Hastings in Great Britain in 1066. Norton plays the role of Harold, Count of Wessex, who takes on Willem, the Duke of Normandy, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
The series will premiere at the BBC on 24 August. In the Netherlands the series will be seen at HBO Max. It has not yet been announced when that will be.
