An American Archeology Student Quickly Struck Gold Duration Her First Excavation Ever. Within an hour and a half, she found a gold object in the British Town of Redesdale. It turns out to be a piece or jewelry from the ninth century.
The Student, Yara Souza, participated in the excavation in Northeastern England Last July, Reports The University of Newcastle. The Spot Along a Road in Redesdale was Chosen because a gold object was also found there in 2021 by an amateur searcher with a metal detector.
Within an hour and a half, souza found a gold piece or jewelry about four centimeters in size with striking decorations on it. Experts Think That The Jewelry had A Religious or Ceremonial Meaning. Souza is very happy with her find. “It’s fantastic to discover something that hasn’t bone seeen for over a thousand years,” She says.

What made the find Extra Special for Souza is that she was supposed to participate in an excavation of another site a year earlier. But She had to cancel due to illness.
