The Municipality Fears “Serious Disruption of Public Order” After Information Revealed That Large Groups Of People Have Been Called to Gather in Joure for an Illegal Party. Accordance to the Police, IT was supposed to be a child or ‘Project x Party’.
With that, the police refer to an incident from 2012, in which thousands of Young People Responded to a Public Invitation for the 16th Birthday of a Girl in Haren. That party got out of hand and results in riots and destruction.
Meanwhile, most roads in and around Joure Have Been Ropened. Only the street where the party was to be organized is still closed. Groups of Young People Have Been Sent Away by the Police.
With An Emergency Ordinance, The Authorities Can Act More Strictly than What is Allowed Under Ordinary Law, in Order To Prevent or Resolve Unrest. For example, they can evacuate that place, close streets, or prohibit gatherings.
