Lieke Klaver stays in Femke Bol just ahead and takes a Dutch title at 200 meters

Lieke Klaver became Dutch champion in the 200 meters on Sunday at the NK Athletics in Hengelo. The Noord-Hollandse remained Femke Bol just ahead of the final.

The 26-year-old Klaver rushed to a time of 22.82 seconds. With that she was only two hundredths faster than convex, who grabbed the silver. With 22.89, De Amersfoortse set the fastest time in the series.

Marije van Hunenstijn (23.20) won the bronze at an appropriate distance. Defenser Tasa Jiya was not there.

It was the third Dutch outdoor title for Klaver in the 200 meters. In 2020 and 2022 she also took the gold. Last year she had to settle for the silver behind Jiya. Bol, who has never been Dutch champion in the 200 meters, then finished third.

Bol used the 200 meters on the Dutch Championship to sharpen the speed. Her specialty is the 400 meters hurdles, the song on which she is reigning world champion.

Next month Bol will defend that title at the World Cup in Tokyo, which will be on the program from 13 to 21 September. Her big competitor Sydney McLaughlin-Levron does not participate in the 400 meters hurdles. Klaver has to deal with McLaughlin-Levrone on the 400 meters.

Painter is correct and prolonged Title

For the men, Onyema Adigida extended his Dutch title in the 200 meters. He ran to a time of 20.36 and was ahead of Taymir Burnet for fourteen hundredths.

Jessica Schilder successfully defended her title in shot put. The European Indoor Champion came to a distance of 19.46 meters and kept number two Jorinde van Klinken (18.20) well behind him.

Myrthe van der Schoot triumphed the 400 meters in a personal record of 51.62. She was ahead of Eveline Saalberg (51.69) and title holder Lisanne de Witte (51.99).
