The man interrupted the speech of Wim Hertgers. His 31-year-old daughter Sanne was murdered by her husband in October 2023 because she wanted to divorce him.
The protest march against femicide in Rotterdam is organized by the Feminist Group Dolle Mina’s. According to ANP , at least a thousand people have been walking with it since 1.30 pm. There are texts like “not all men, but always a man” on signs. Around 2.50 pm the crowd arrived at Schouwburgplein, where the second part of the stage program is busy.
The protest is a reaction to the murder of two women in a week in July. It is a 38-year-old woman from Vlijmen, who was probably killed by her boyfriend and a 39-year-old woman from Gouda. The suspect was her ex-partner, who died shortly after the incident himself.
