Steven Knight wants to make the new James Bond film “better, stronger and bolder” than its predecessors. The British screenwriter is not revealing which actor should play the secret agent.
Amazon MGM Studios announced earlier on Friday that Knight has been asked to write the script for the 26th installment of the action series.
Knight previously created the hit series Peaky Blinders and the Oscar-nominated film Dirty Pretty Things. The screenwriter is a big fan of the James Bond films himself. “I hope to make something that is the same, but also different. It’s fantastic that I have been offered this,” he said on BBC Radio 5 on Friday.
Knight cannot yet say anything about the plot. He also declined to comment on which actor he would consider a good successor to Daniel Craig. The British actor said goodbye to the character after five installments.
It is not yet known when the new James Bond film will be ready.
