Justin Timberlake has Lyme disease. He had been experiencing health problems for some time and was diagnosed while on a world tour. But the singer didn’t want to cancel his concerts.
The 44-year-old artist completed his tour this week. The American writes on Instagram that he is happy to have continued performing despite his diagnosis. “I have not only proven to myself how determined I am, but have also experienced many unforgettable moments.”
Now that the singer can look back on his tour, he wants to be open about his illness. “I’m not saying it to elicit sympathy, but to shed some light on what I’ve been dealing with behind the scenes.”
He was on stage with nerve pain or suffered from extreme fatigue and felt sick. “If you have experienced this disease or know someone who has, you know: living with it can be exhausting, both mentally and physically.”
The singer performed three evenings at the Ziggo Dome in August last year. In June he was one of the headliners at Pinkpop.
