The 23-year-old man from Hoorn who is suspected of involvement in the death of singer S10’s twin brother will remain in custody for at least two more weeks. The Noord-Holland court decided this on Thursday.
The suspect was arrested in May and had already been in pre-trial detention for sixty days. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) wanted to extend his pre-trial detention by another thirty days. Spokespersons for the court and the OM cannot directly indicate why the court deviated from this.
In addition to the 23-year-old suspect, a 30-year-old man from Hoorn has been in pre-trial detention since the end of June. He will appear in public for the first time in October during a preliminary hearing at the court.
The 24-year-old Emiel den Hollander fell from an apartment in Amsterdam under suspicious circumstances on April 16. He was found seriously injured on the roof of a garage.
Den Hollander was in a coma for nine weeks after his fall, from which he did not awaken. He died on June 19 from his injuries.
