In the Frisian village of Burdaard, a person has died after being hit by a car. The driver appears to have driven on, police report on X.
Around 00:17, police received a report about the incident. The victim was presumably injured in a collision with a vehicle on the Ledyk, after which the driver drove on.
The victim did not survive the collision. Assistance was no longer helpful, police report. According to NOS, the victim is a cyclist.
Police say they are looking for a black car and the driver. “The vehicle most likely has damage to the right side.” The bumper would also be damaged and a mirror would be missing.
The police have started a citizen network action. People with information about the incident are urged to report it. It is unknown in which direction the car drove.
