Youth presenter Fenna Ramos away from Avrotros after alleged misconduct

AVROTROS is parting ways with youth presenter Fenna Ramos due to allegations of misconduct. She allegedly displayed diva-like behavior, yelled, and belittled people during the theater tour of her children’s program Zin in Zappelin.

AVROTROS confirms this following reports from AD. The allegations come from theater producer BazarMedia Productions.

In a complaint email to AVROTROS in August last year, BazarMedia writes that the stories piled up. “She steamrolled over our agreements. Her diva behavior, that everyone had to work and build for her, was significant.”

“Her behavior towards others, the snapping and yelling, is the primary reason we are ending our collaboration.” According to the producer, employees also witnessed her “completely tearing down” her manager. The producer said they also suffered from her behavior. “She destroys you. Belittles you. Conversations with her made me nauseous and sick.”

The 33-year-old Ramos does not recognize herself in the allegations. Lawyer Royce de Vries says that the allegations are not the reason for her departure from AVROTROS. “This decision was already made by my client to take new steps in her career.”

‘It’s regrettable that this is happening around children’s programming’

Ramos filed an injunction because the allegations were, according to her, “incorrect and hurtful.” According to her lawyers, the letter had “the purpose of damaging the client’s reputation.” The presenter wanted a rectification, but the judge did not rule in her favor.

AVROTROS says it has taken the alleged allegations seriously. “We think it is regrettable that this is happening around our children’s programming.” AVROTROS itself has no direct experience with unwanted or unacceptable behavior from Fenna.

AVROTROS has entered into discussions with both the theater producer involved and Fenna herself. “In the conversations that followed, we spoke with Fenna about the future of her role as presenter of Zin in Zappelin. This included her desire to be able to accept commercial assignments as well as AVROTROS’s wish to connect a new face to the program after seven years. Therefore, it has been decided to end the collaboration at the end of 2025.”
