Ajax is set to strengthen its squad with Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Oscar Gloukh. His agent confirmed on Tuesday that the Israeli is on his way to the runner-up of the past Eredivisie season.
“I can confirm that Oscar is going to Ajax and will sign a five-year contract,” agent Rafaela Pimenta told De Telegraaf.
Various media outlets reported an agreement between Ajax and Salzburg two weeks ago. Gloukh was still ‘just’ in the Austrians’ selection a week later for the match against SK Brann in the Champions League preliminary rounds.
The attacking midfielder provided an assist in that match. Now all the details have been finalized, although Gloukh still has to undergo a medical examination in Amsterdam this week. After that, he will sign his contract.
Gloukh was high on Ajax’s wish list, which is paying around 15 million euros. The midfielder accounted for 23 goals and 29 assists in 101 games for Red Bull Salzburg. He previously played for Maccabi Tel Aviv from his native country.
