Supermarket chain Jumbo is immediately recalling all of its store-brand falafel meals because they contain pork instead of falafel. As a result, the vegetarian dish not only contains meat, but also soy. This is dangerous for people with a soy allergy.
This concerns Jumbo falafel Lebanese style with the expiration date 29-07-2025. The meal can be returned to the nearest Jumbo store. Buyers will get their money back and do not have to show a receipt.
Jumbo writes that anyone who is not allergic to soy and has no problem with pork can simply eat the meal. “We regret this recall and apologize for the uncertainty this causes customers.”
For more questions about the pork in the falafel meal, Jumbo refers to customer service.
