Former international Dick Schneider commemorated on Sunday at Johan Cruijff Scale

A minute of silence will be observed before the Johan Cruijff Shield match between PSV and Go Ahead Eagles this Sunday to commemorate Dick Schneider. The former international passed away last weekend at the age of 77.

Schneider played for Go Ahead for a long time. He played a total of 232 matches for the club from Deventer in three periods, in which he scored 29 times.

With Feyenoord, Schneider became champion twice and won the UEFA Cup. Later he also played for Vitesse and FC Wageningen. He played eleven times for the Dutch national team.

After his active career, Schneider was briefly the director of football at Go Ahead. Even after that, he continued to follow the club closely. ‘Knakkie’, as his nickname was, regularly visited the training sessions and was a regular guest at Go Ahead’s home matches.

The match between national champion PSV and cup winner Go Ahead at the Philips Stadium starts on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
