Na het sprintweekend in België komen de Formule 1-coureurs vanaf vrijdag alweer in actie in Hongarije. Bekijk hier wanneer Max Verstappen en de andere coureurs in actie komen in het laatste raceweekend voor de zomerstop.
Het sprintformat op Spa-Franchorchamps wordt komend weekend weer ingeruild voor een regulier schema. Verstappen won de sprintrace in België, maar moest in de hoofdrace genoegen nemen met de vierde plek.
Oscar Piastri schreef de race in België op zijn naam en verstevigde zijn leiding in de WK-stand. De McLaren-coureur heeft nu 266 punten en heeft een kleine voorsprong op zijn teamgenoot Lando Norris (250 punten).
Piastri was vorig jaar de beste in Hongarije. Norris en Lewis Hamilton completeerden toen het podium. In 2022 en 2023 schreef Verstappen de race op de Hungaroring op zijn naam.
De Formule 1 is na de race in Hongarije toe aan een zomerstop. De eerstvolgende race na de Grand Prix van Hongarije is de Grand Prix van Nederland op 31 augustus.
