Former FC Utrecht attacker Cedric Badjeck (30) died

Former FC Utrecht attacker Cedric Badjeck passed away on Monday at the age of thirty, it was announced on Tuesday. The Cameroonian-Dutch attacker also played for Excelsior in the Eredivisie.

Badjeck made his debut for FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie in March 2012 at the age of seventeen. A breakthrough in Stadion Galgenwaard did not materialize for the attacker, who played six league matches for the club. He scored once in the Eredivisie: in December 2013 against Go Ahead Eagles.

In 2015, Badjeck, who was born in the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé, transferred to Excelsior. He made five appearances for the Rotterdam club.

At the age of 22, Badjeck disappeared from professional football, after which he was active as an amateur footballer for years at clubs such as De Treffers and VV DUNO.
