Man acquitted of theft from home reality star Tamara Elbaz

Nassar E. has been acquitted of the theft from the home of reality star Tamara Elbaz. That was decided by the court in Amsterdam on Tuesday. At the end of last year, E., together with two caretakers, committed a fake robbery on Elbaz’s house. Various valuable items were stolen.

Jewelry, watches and bags with a total estimated value of 200,000 euros were stolen from Elbaz’s house in Amsterdam. Elbaz, known from the reality series The Real Housewives of Amsterdam, was not at home at the time. Her young son was sleeping in the house. Elbaz has since recovered some of the items.

According to the Public Prosecution Service (OM), E. and one of the caretakers were a couple at the time. Research shows that they had contacted each other several times on the day of the theft. E. denied having anything to do with the theft.

The most important indication that E. would have been in the house, according to the Public Prosecution Service, was the similarity between the shoe of one of the perpetrators seen in camera images and the shoe that E. wore a week and a half later. According to the court, the camera images are of poor quality. The shoes would also be “fairly common footwear”.

The 21-year-old E. has now been released. He and Elbaz were both not present in court on Tuesday.

Other suspects will appear before the court at a later date.
