The sixth season of Kamp Van Koningsbrugge takes place in the jungle of Suriname. For the first time, the program is being recorded outside of Europe. Fifteen participants will undergo rigorous training under commando conditions, AVROTROS reported on Monday.
The Surinamese jungle is an official training location for the Dutch armed forces. According to the broadcaster, the tropical climate, dense vegetation, and natural hazards will put extra physical and mental pressure on the candidates.
The recordings were made in collaboration with the Surinamese army, local authorities, a Surinamese crew, and the population.
In the program, participants’ physical and mental endurance is tested during intensive training based on that of the Defense elite unit. The program is presented by Jeroen van Koningsbrugge. Former commandos Ray Klaassens and Dai Carter are also involved in the program.
The first episode of the new season can be seen on NPO 1 on Monday, September 1st at 8:30 PM.
