Ryanair sees profit due to higher ticket prices.

Budget airline Ryanair has more than doubled its profit in the past quarter. This was mainly due to significantly higher ticket prices. The Irish airline also carried more passengers.

Profit for the past quarter came in at almost 820 million euros, compared to 360 million euros a year earlier. According to Ryanair, ticket prices were on average 21 percent higher than a year earlier. At that time, revenues were still under pressure due to lower ticket prices.

The number of passengers increased by 4 percent to 57.9 million. Presumably there will also be an increase for the rest of the year, as a result of which 206 million passengers are expected to fly with Ryanair in 2025. That would be a record.

The company further says that demand is strong in the important summer period, but that ticket prices will not rise as sharply this quarter as in the past quarter.

A setback for Ryanair is that deliveries of Boeing aircraft have been delayed due to problems at the American aircraft manufacturer. These delays put pressure on growth. Ryanair wants to put three hundred new, economical Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft into use up to and including March 2034.
