Residents of a house in Amsterdam-Oost encountered a special intruder on Saturday: a royal python. The police, with the help of an animal specialist, handed the snake over to the animal ambulance.
The snake was found in a house on Karnstraat. After the discovery, the residents immediately called the police, who arrived on the scene with a reptile specialist, the Gaasperdam police wrote on Instagram.
The royal python, which can grow to be about one and a half meters long, has been captured and handed over to the animal ambulance. The residents were shocked but not injured.
The animal probably escaped from a terrarium. The police are still looking for the owner. Until the owner is found, the snake will be cared for by the animal ambulance.
