Kickboxers Levi Rigters and Jamal Ben Saddik will face each other on Saturday, August 23, in Ahoy in Rotterdam. Kickboxing organization Glory has paired the two in the Last Heavyweight Standing tournament.
Ben Saddik and Rigters were scheduled to face each other three years ago at GLORY 80. That fight was canceled because the event in Hasselt, Belgium, was called off due to massive riots between fans.
For the thirty-year-old Rigters, it will be his first fight since losing to Rico Verhoeven in December in the battle for the world heavyweight title. Ben Saddik has lost twice to Verhoeven in a fight for the world title.
At the Last Heavyweight Standing tournament during GLORY 103, sixteen heavyweights will compete against each other in eight duels. The winners will advance to the next event. Eventually, after a final evening, one winner will remain. Verhoeven’s world title is not at stake.
