E-bike store chain Welectric has been declared bankrupt. The stores in Amsterdam, The Hague, Weesp, and Bussum have been closed since last week.
Welectric was founded in 2020 and sold e-bikes as well as fat bikes, electric cargo bikes, scooters, and small cars. These included brands such as Tenways, Phatfour, Lovens, Microlino and Cowboy.
Customers discovered last week that the Welectric stores were suddenly closed. They also complained in online reviews that the business could no longer be reached by telephone. A lot of customers’ e-bikes are still in the workshops on location for maintenance or repairs.
Welectric asks for understanding in a statement. The company also reports that repairs are no longer being carried out for the time being. Customers who have their bicycle in the workshop “will be notified as soon as possible.” Welectric also writes that you do not have to come to one of the stores without an appointment. The doors remain closed.
Those who have been affected and still have an order or invoice outstanding with Welectric can submit a claim via Claimsagent.
