The airport reports on X that air traffic to and from Milan-Bergamo Stillag between 10.20 am and noon. The reason for this was a “problem” that occurred while taxiing an airplane.

Ansa news agency reports that a man had ended up in a rotating engine of an airplane. It would be a aircraft from airline Volotea, which was about to leave.

A spokesperson for the airport reports to Reuters news agency that a man has indeed died. The victim was not an airport employee and also not a passenger.

The Italian authorities are investigating the incident. Air traffic was restarted at noon.
