Leontine Ruiters excludes relationship with Marco Borsato: 'As a family we are good'

Leontine Ruiters does not foresee a romantic relationship with her ex-husband Marco Borsato anymore. In the program Het Waren 2 Fantastische Dagen (Those Were 2 Fantastic Days), she talks about her divorce and the aftermath.

The 57-year-old presenter decided to seek help after the breakup with Borsato and went to therapy. She also participated in a spiritual ceremony. “I had a tremendous need to heal and solve things for myself,” she says in the program. “Who am I actually without Marco?”

During the ceremony, Ruiters says she initially saw frightening images. “It started for me with seeing all kinds of scary faces. Demons, I felt.” The facilitator advised her not to avoid these images, but to embrace them. That helped, according to Ruiters. “When I gave those demons love, they turned into sweet, friendly beings. Then I thought: wow, what a beautiful insight.”

In the episode, former presenter Frank Masmeijer also speaks. He wonders how Borsato is doing now. According to Ruiters, her ex has “made his world small,” which she finds “very understandable.” About the question of whether there is still a reconciliation, she is clear: “No.”

Borsato is due to appear in court on October 28 and 30. The singer is suspected of indecent assault with a minor. Regarding the relationship within the family, Ruiters says: “We are all good as a family, we are good as a family. That is very nice.”
