Transfer left back Bjorn Meijer to Feyenoord Ketst at last minute

The transfer of Bjorn Meijer to Feyenoord has been called off at the last moment. His agent told ESPN on Sunday that the Rotterdam club had doubts about the immediate usability of the Club Brugge left-back after the medical examination.

The 22-year-old Meijer participated in the European Championship with Jong Oranje last month. He was said to have already reached a personal agreement with Feyenoord and the clubs had agreed on a transfer fee of more than six million euros.

According to his agent, Feyenoord doubted Meijer’s immediate usability after the medical examination on Friday. The Rotterdam club does not want to respond to the news itself.

Feyenoord wants a top-fit left-back. At the beginning of August, the club will already be active in the third preliminary round of the Champions League. The Rotterdam club is looking for a replacement for Quilindschy Hartman, who recently left for Burnley.

Earlier, the Rotterdam club signed Sem Steijn (FC Twente), Luciano Valente (FC Groningen) and Gaoussou Diarra (Istanbulspor).
