Na de deceptie in Oostenrijk mikt Max Verstappen komend weekend op revanche in Groot-Brittannië. Rijdt hij zich op Silverstone wel weer in de punten? Bekijk hier het tijdschema van de Britse Grand Prix.

Na een race van slechts een halve ronde in Oostenrijk zag Verstappen zijn achterstand in de WK-stand verder oplopen. Hij wilde al niet meer over de titel praten, maar zal toch weer snel in een meer positieve flow willen komen. Anders wordt het een heel lang seizoen.
Op Silverstone heeft Verstappen twee zeges geboekt. Hij won in 2020 de Grand Prix ter ere van het zeventigjarig bestaan van de Formule 1. Ook n 2023 was hij er de beste.
Lewis Hamilton keert terug naar het circuit waarop hij maar liefst negen keer won. Met dat aantal is hij recordhouder. Op Silverstone boekte de Brit in juli 2024 zijn voorlaatste Grand Prix-zege.
Later die maand won Hamilton alleen nog de Grand Prix van België, al stond hij daar niet op de hoogte trede van het podium. Hamilton werd tweede, maar mocht een plekje opschuiven nadat George Russell na de race werd gediskwalificeerd vanwege een te lichte auto.

After a race of only half a lap in Austria, Verstappen saw his deficit in the World Championship standings increase further. He didn’t want to talk about the title anymore, but he will want to get back into a more positive flow quickly. Otherwise it will be a very long season.
Verstappen has achieved two victories at Silverstone. He won the Grand Prix in 2020 in honor of the seventieth anniversary of Formula 1. He was also the best there in 2023.
Lewis Hamilton returns to the circuit where he has won no fewer than nine times. With that number he is the record holder. In July 2024, the Briton achieved his penultimate Grand Prix victory at Silverstone.
Later that month, Hamilton only won the Belgian Grand Prix, although he was not on the top step of the podium there. Hamilton finished second, but was allowed to move up a place after George Russell was disqualified after the race due to a car that was too light.
