Two Dutch motorcyclists were injured in an accident on the German Autobahn on Sunday. Because a pigeon suddenly crossed, the vehicle in front of the motorcyclists had to brake abruptly. The Dutch also had to brake as a result, and collided with each other.
The accident happened at 11:13 am on the A61 motorway, towards Koblenz. One of the motorcyclists, a 56-year-old man, lost control of his handlebars during the collision and fell. He was seriously injured, but his life is not in danger. The man was treated on the spot and taken to a nearby hospital.
The other motorcyclist is a 72-year-old man. He was slightly injured. The road to Koblenz had to be temporarily closed for investigation into the accident.
