Paul Simon has had to cancel two performances in the American city of Philadelphia because he was suffering too much from back pain. The singer needs to undergo surgery to get rid of his back problems.
“Paul is struggling with chronic and severe back pain. It became too much today and required immediate attention,” reads a statement on Instagram.
“We have good hope that after this minor procedure, which is scheduled for the coming days, Paul will be able to finish the tour.”
The 83-year-old Simon, known from the duo Simon & Garfunkel, is currently on his tour A Quiet Celebration. His next performance is on July 7 in Long Beach, California.
Simon is struggling with more health problems. In 2023, he announced that he is almost completely deaf in his left ear.
