Tyrell Malacia and Rick Karsdorp will not return to PSV. The Eindhoven club will not exercise the purchase option for loan player Malacia, while Karsdorp will leave on a free transfer.
PSV had loaned the 25-year-old Malacia from Manchester United since the beginning of February. The national champion had negotiated an option to buy, but will not use it. “Thank you and good luck in the future, Tyrell,” the club writes on X on Sunday.
Malacia was brought to PSV after the departure of Matteo Dams and Fredrik Oppegard. The left back did not grow into a starting player. The former Feyenoord player and nine-time Orange international played twelve games for the Eindhoven team.
PSV will also not continue with Karsdorp. The thirty-year-old right wing defender came over from AS Roma last summer and signed a contract for one season. PSV had the option to extend the contract by one year.
Karsdorp, also a former Feyenoord player, like Malacia, had little playing time at PSV. The right back played twenty games. “Thank you, Rick,” PSV writes on X.
