John Travolta surprised the audience of a Grease sing-along and his colleagues on Friday. The 71-year-old actor unexpectedly appeared as Danny Zuko, his character in the famous musical film from the seventies.
Travolta shared images on Instagram of his appearance at an open-air theater in Hollywood, where the audience cheered him loudly. His colleagues on stage were also surprised: they knew nothing about it in advance.
Alongside Travolta was actress Didi Conn, who played Frenchie in the film. Actor Kelly Ward, known for his role as Putzie, and director Randal Kleiser were also present.
The video shows Travolta encouraging the audience to sing an iconic line from the film together. Soon, “a-womp-bop-a-looma a-womp-bam-boom” from the song We Go Together sounded loudly. Travolta thanked the audience in his message “for a great evening”.
