Mick van Dijke has cycled himself into the Tour de France selection of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. The Dutchman will make his debut in the Tour de France on July 5. The team around defending champion Tadej Pogacar is also known.
The 25-year-old Van Dijke will participate in a grand tour for the first time in France. His twin brother Tim van Dijke already did so a year ago in the Giro d’Italia.
In addition to Van Dijke, Danny van Poppel is also part of the Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe selection. The sprinter is already an established name in the team and is preparing for his seventh participation in the Tour de France.
At Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, it’s mainly about Primoz Roglic, who is aiming for his ninth podium finish in a grand tour. The German Florian Lipowitz, the Belgian Jordi Meeus, the Italian Gianni Moscon, the New Zealander Laurence Pithie and the Russian Aleksandr Vlasov are the other names in the team.
Intermarché-Wanty already announced the team on Thursday and also takes a Dutch debutant to France. The 24-year-old Roel van Sintmaartensdijk is facing his first participation in the Tour.
Defending champion Pogacar also knows who his seven teammates are in the hunt for his fourth Tour victory. The 26-year-old Slovenian will receive help from UAE Team Emirates from five teammates who also assisted him in his recent victory in the Critérium du Dauphiné.
Those are the Ecuadorian Jhonatan Narváez, the German Nils Politt, the Frenchman Pavel Sivakov, the Spaniard Marc Soler and the Belgian Tim Wellens. In addition, there are the Briton Adam Yates and the Portuguese João Almeida, the winner of the Tour de Suisse.
Only Narváez is new compared to last year’s Tour team. Compared to the team with which Pogacar won the final victory for the third time in 2024, the Spaniard Juan Ayuso takes place.
